Welcome to The Learning Center! If you haven’t dropped in to tour The Learning Center’s new building, please do. Open House on August 27^th from 10AM to 8PM is a perfect opportunity to visit. The Learning Centers supports classrooms for adults and high school students earning credits towards a diploma. A computer lab for homework is available in the evening. Staff meetings, teacher training, and The Board of Education met regularly in available rooms. Moving to our new building has made a tremendous impact providing a positive and successful environment for student learning.

 

The Learning Center welcomes 18-years or older adult students. TLC is staffed with certified teachers that understand and support the returning adult student, realizing the motivation and dedication these students have when returning to school.

 

Enrollment for adult students will begin August 17^th, 2009. The Learning Center is open from 8AM to 8PM, Monday through Thursday and 8AM to 3PM on Friday. Any adult interested in earning a high school diploma simply completes an enrollment form and schedules a training session. This training prepares the student to use the computer curriculum program and also includes a personal conference to determine classes needed. Many courses are available on-line. The cost is only $10 for the entire school year.

 

The High School Day class will begin at 7:45, August 12^th, following the district school calendar. High school students need to enroll by mail returning completed forms to the high school. All students and parents must attend a parent meeting. Parents may select a meeting at 3:00 PM or 6:30 PM on August 11.

 

Each school year begins with the promise of changing futures. Students and staff collaborate to improve opportunities for learning and develop a purposeful community.  Teacher assistants will continue video transfer service and students will continue to create projects for local charities. We strive to design education options to all who enter our doors. The staff at The Learning Center and I are looking forward to another great school year. Welcome to all students who take steps toward reaching their dreams.
